Material processing
Turning on conventional lathes is mainly suitable for the production of cylindrical parts, such as shafts, bushings or pins. The operation can be performed using various knives and tools for external and internal machining, including finishing and threading.
During machining on conventional milling machines, flat and shaped surfaces, grooves, and parts with various complex geometries can be produced. Milling can be in one direction or in the opposite direction, and can be used with single- or multi-edged milling tools to achieve the desired surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
When keyways are machined into bushings, a linearly moving tool removes material along the desired shape. This process is particularly important in the production of mating parts, as the accurate and precise design of the keyways ensures the proper assembly and operation of the parts.
Carbon steels can be welded using consumable electrode gas shielded arc welding (MIG/MAG), which is a fast and efficient process, or tungsten electrode gas shielded arc welding (TIG), which produces high precision and high-quality welds. The selection of the appropriate welding technology depends on the material thickness, the load and the requirements of the finished part.
